KEY MESSAGE
Area closure will come into effect on 8/29, preventing access to roads that transect through or near the fire area.

CURRENT STATUS
Fire is still within the planned containment lines, but there has been an increase in fire activity and fire has grown to 861 acres in the past 48 hours. Crews are still working on cleaning up containment lines along the 5762 Road, and today (8/29) fire crews plan to start burnout operations between containment lines and the fire perimeter. Burnout operations allow fire managers to intentionally reduce the amount of unburned fuel between their indirect fireline and the main fire, which significantly reduces the risk of the main fire spreading or surpassing containment lines. Given the warming and drying weather conditions more active fire behavior is expected. A Type 3 Incident Management Team has been ordered and will take over command of the fire on 8/30.

WEATHER AND FIRE BEHAVIOR
Warming weather with lower relative humidity is expected throughout the week and into the weekend. High winds are forecasted for the afternoon with higher fire activity expected.
