The Warner Peak Fire started on the evening of Monday, August 5, 2024, and is burning within the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge, 6 miles east of Plush, Oregon. This fire is a full suppression fire.
Firefighting Strategy: Firefighters are utilizing burnout operations to create fire lines and secure the perimeter of the blaze. Additionally, they are scouting and prioritizing structures within the wildlife refuge for protection.
