Weather Concerns | Upper level low pressure moved into the area on Monday, and this produced a marine push which brought low clouds into the fire area along with much cooler, more humid air. Clouds cleared by early afternoon with high temperatures in the 60s (down 15-20 degrees compared to Sunday) and humidities in the 45-60% range (up 10-15%). Northwest winds gusted to 15 mph in the afternoon. Thunderstorms developed east of the fire, and as of mid-afternoon, none had affected the fire area. Thunderstorms will continue to our east this evening, and there remains a slight chance that a storm or an outflow boundary from the storms could drift into the fire area. After sunset, storms will dissipate and marine air will surge back with good recoveries and possible low clouds again. High pressure will begin building over the area Tuesday with warmer, drier conditions. This will be the beginning of another significant heat wave and night-time east wind pattern for the remainder of the week. |
