SW Oregon Smoke Outlook September 24-25
Updated On: 09/25/2023
An Air Quality Alert remains in place for Curry County until midnight Sunday. Bandon is getting the heaviest smoke impacts as southerly winds funnel smoke directly along HWY 101 from Bandon to Coos Bay. Locations along HWY 101 north of Port Orford to Coos Bay and along HWY 42 from Bandon to Myrtle Point will continue to have degraded air quality until heavy rainfall scours out smoke. Limited fire activity and new smoke production from heavy rains overnight and throughout Monday will bring much needed relief to the area.
SW Oregon Smoke Outlook September 25-26
Updated On: 09/25/2023
Heavy rainfall and gusty winds have cleared the area of smoke and dampened fire behavior. With prolonged wind and rain, GOOD air quality is expected until drier conditions allow increased fire activity and new smoke production. Low-lying areas in the immediate vicinity of the fire perimeter will have intermittent smoke impacts during breaks in the weather.

SW Oregon Smoke Outlook September 23-24
Updated On: 09/24/2023
Southerly to Southwest winds will usher smoke northward and inland into Sunday. Additionally, smoke from active fires in Northern California will contribute to reduced AQ before arrival of rains late Sunday. The most impacted communities will be along and east of the Highway 101 corridor in Curry County, and inland to Grants Pass and the Highway 42 corridor.
