A Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation has been issued to the area south of Powder River and Brownlee Reservoir to Huntington, east of Iron Mountain Road and Timber Canyon to the Snake River.A Level 1 (BE READY) evacuation has been issued to the area south of Dry Gulch Road to the Powder River.The town of Richland IS NOT currently under an evacuation order.
Baker County Sheriff's Office Dispatch received several reports of lightning strikes and visible smoke in the Durkee area late this afternoon.

Durkee Fire Baker County Evacuation Level Update (7/22/24 12:11 P.M.)Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation levels remain in effect for Huntington and the Rye Valley area.With thunderstorms forecasted late this afternoon, the potential for high winds and unpredictable fire weather, we anticipate the evacuation levels will remain unchanged throughout the day.
Current evacuation levels for the Durkee fire.All areas will remain the same with one area added for level 1 or “READY”. The new level 1 area is east of I84 to Highway 201.Areas of fire activity remain on the south end of the burn so current evacuation levels will remain in place.Thunderstorm activity and high winds are expected this afternoon.
Durkee Fire Evacuation Level Update (7/21/24 7:32 P.M.)Level 3 evacuation (GO NOW) has been issued to Huntington and the surrounding area.Wind speeds have increased, which may push the fire toward town. For Huntington residents that need transportation, a bus will be available at Lions Park.
BAKER COUNTY EVACUATION LEVELS UPDATE (7/21/24 4:02 P.M.): Please be advised of the current evacuation levels pertaining to the Durkee Fire.Level 3 (GO NOW) has been issued for the Bridgeport valley south of Pioneer Lane to the Baker/Malheur County line.Level 2 (BE SET) has been issued for the area east of Highway 245 and south of Forest Service Road 11.
MALHEUR COUNTY EVACUATION LEVELS UPDATE (7/21/24 3:03 P.M.):The Durkee fire burning has been stopped on the south end in the Willowcreek area. We will maintain a “GO” level while we confirm there is in fact no fire activity in this area.
EVACUATION LEVELS UPDATE (7/20/24 3:02 P.M.): The Durkee Fire has continued to advance south. A Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation has been extended into rural areas of Willowcreek and Vale in Malheur County. Huntington remains at a Level 1 (BE READY). Maps in this post have been updated.
