BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 27, 2024 – The Boise National Forest has modified or expanding their wildfire closures to address public and firefighter safety and respond to increased wildfire growth.
Wapiti Fire Closure - Area, Road, and Trail Closures - #0402-05-095 08-22-2024

The Wapiti Fire closure area, surrounding Grandjean, is being expanded to the north and east, including portions of the Sawtooth National Forest and Salmon-Challis National Forest. This closure includes both sides of Hwy. 21 going north along Canyon Creek, and along the south side of highway as it continues from Banner Summit towards Stanley. This new closure becomes effective Aug.
