Smoke Outlook for Saturday, August 31, 2024 for the Middle Fork Complex Fire

A community meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 2nd, at 6 p.m. at the White Barn Building, near 85 Severance Road, Garden Valley, Idaho. The Incident Commander, key team members, and Boise National Forest representatives will provide updates on the fire and answer any questions. 

This team assisted with the Kindergarten through 5th Grade assembly at Garden Valley School on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

This "pumpkin" is a too used in wildland firefighting where retardant and water can be stored to use in wildland fire operations.

Dustin Shoffner from Engine 188, Boise National Forest, visits with homeowners off the Middle Fork Road. A number of engines canvassed neighborhoods in Garden Valley and Crouch to assess road access, bridge weight limits, possible water sources, and other pertient information to protect the area.

The crew from Engine 191 Outback went door to door in housing areas off the Middle Fork Road to talk with homeowners and learn more about the roads, water sources, egress routes, etc.
